in Moscow, Inna Petrova entered the Bolshoi Choreographic School in 1977.
Still being a student, she became a recipient of the Silver Medal at the
II All Soviet Union Ballet Competition in 1984. In 1985 Ms. Petrova joined
the Bolshoi Ballet, and has been promoted to the rank of ballerina in
1988. For all these years she has been coached by the legendary Russian
dancer and teacher Marina Semyonova, for the roles of Swanilda in "Coppelia";
Lise in "La Fille Mal Garde"; Odette/Odile in "Swan Lake";
title roles in "Giselle", "Raimonda" and "La
Sylphyde"; Medora in "Le Corsaire"; Gamzatti in "La
Bayadere"; Rita in "The Golden Age"; Phrygia in "Spartacus";
"Romeo and Juliet" (original production of L. Lavrovsky and
Y. Grigorovich version); Lilac Fairy in "The Sleeping Beauty";
leading roles in "Les Sylphides", "Paquita", "Mozartiana"
etc. "Beautiful and delicate, Inna Petrova is wonderful in her Bolshoi
roles. She is undoubtedly one of the most subtle ballerinas of the Company",
- was written by the Russian critic after her "Giselle". Inna
Petrova is the Merited Artist of Russia.
